Swatara Watershed Association

Adventure and giving back to the community go hand -in-hand

The Lebanon Valley is home to many beautiful waterways. The Swatara Watershed Association strives to keep our waterways clean by promoting conservation and education. Our natural resources are valuable and the Swatara Watershed Association aims to protect those resources by regularly monitoring water quality. They support outdoor recreation involving these waterways, like kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and swimming.

Their stewardship is made possile through volunteer work and different public events meant to teach others about conservation and encourage the importance of giving back to the community. The Swatara Sojourn is an annual event that lets kayakers and canoers participate in a 9 mile float and clean up trash and litter along the way. It is a wonderful way for the whole family to have a fun time and give back!
